Good to know

This works best when your group wants one shared property but not one crowded house. The Creaking Cabin and the tiny house sit on the same wooded driveway, a short walk apart. The Creaking Cabin A log cabin with vaulted ceilings and the kind of character you can hear. As temperatures shift, the logs pop and creak. It can sound like footsteps. It's just the cabin settling and it gives a lot of character. Downstairs: a private king bedroom with a door that closes, a full bathroom with shower, a full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker), a washer and dryer, a glass top desk, and a living area with a gas fireplace and TV. The gas fireplace is available October through April. Upstairs: an open loft with a king bed and a queen bed, plus a second bathroom with a bathtub. The front porch is where most of the cabin time lands. Rocking chairs, wind chimes, a hammock, and cornhole boards in a quiet, wooded setting. The Tiny House The tiny house is tucked farther back on the driveway toward the trees. The main level has a full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker) and a living area with TV. Upstairs, the queen bed and full bathroom are in one open loft space, reached by steep built-in stairs. The back deck faces nothing but woods and is completely private. Morning coffee, evening drinks, or just sitting in the hammock while hummingbirds do their thing. Together Two kitchens, three bathrooms, two living areas, and separate sleeping zones on one property. The buildings are a short walk apart and within view of each other. You're together when you want to be and have your own space when you don't. Nearby Attractions - Harrah's Cherokee Casino: 10 min - Downtown Cherokee: 11 min - Downtown Bryson City: 10 min - Sequoyah National Golf Club: 7 min - Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Oconaluftee entrance): 18 min - Oconaluftee Indian Village & Museum of the Cherokee People: 13 min - Mingo Falls: 25 min - Downtown Sylva: 17 min The best part of the combo is the breathing room. Porch time at the cabin, wooded deck time at the tiny house, and enough space for everyone to separate without being disconnected.

Other Details to Note

Cabin Sounds: The logs pop and creak as temperatures change, especially at night. It can sound like footsteps overhead. That's the cabin settling. Light sleepers may want earplugs the first night. Tiny House Loft: The queen bed is in an elevated loft reached by steep built-in stairs. The ceiling is low up there. All guests sleeping in the tiny house should be comfortable climbing up and down. Tiny House Bathroom: The bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) is in the same open space as the sleeping area, with no wall or door separating it from the bed. If bathroom privacy is important, this layout may not be the right fit. Cabin Loft: The cabin's upstairs loft is open to the living room below. Sound travels between the two levels. Cabin Bathrooms: The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub only, no shower. The downstairs bathroom has a shower and a jetted tub, but the jets are not in service. A two-step stair helps with the high step in, but it may still not work well for guests with mobility concerns. Gas Fireplace: The cabin's gas fireplace is available October through April only. Kitchen Cleanup: Neither building has a dishwasher. Dishes are hand washed. Ice: Ice trays are provided in the cabin freezer. Guests who want plenty of ice for coolers or drinks may want to bring a bag. Outdoor Fires: No fire pit, grill, or outdoor fire setup. This is a small residential area where outdoor fires are not permitted. The Property: When you book this listing, the cabin, tiny house, gravel driveway, and parking area are yours. Other homes are farther up the road on their own driveways. The setting is wooded and private to your group but not isolated. Arriving After Dark: The property can be tricky to find at night. Use the directions and photos we send before arrival rather than relying only on GPS. Arriving before dark on the first trip makes it easier. Internet: Both buildings have wifi. The cabin has a glass top desk for working. Speeds can vary with weather and network load. If a reliable connection is critical for your stay, bring a personal hotspot as backup. Pets: This property is pet free. 4WD/AWD: Recommended whenever snow or ice is in the forecast, as the mountain roads in the Smokies can get slick.
