Log cabin & tiny house: 10 min to casino
Whittier, NC, United States
A log cabin and a tiny house on the same wooded property, a short walk apart. Two kitchens, three bathrooms, and separate living spaces so your group can spread out without being on top of each other. The cabin has a private bedroom downstairs and a loft above. The tiny house has its own kitchen, bathroom, and a back deck facing nothing but trees. Harrah's Cherokee Casino is about 10 minutes. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about 18 minutes. Bryson City is 10 minutes the other direction.
Good to know
This listing books both buildings on the property: the Creaking Cabin and the tiny house next door. The Creaking Cabin A log cabin with vaulted ceilings and the kind of character you can hear. As temperatures shift, the logs pop and creak. It sounds like footsteps. It's not. Downstairs: a private king bedroom with a door that closes, a full bathroom with shower, a full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker), a washer and dryer, and a living area with a gas fireplace and TV. Upstairs: an open loft with a king bed and a queen bed, plus a second bathroom with a bathtub. The covered front deck has rocking chairs, wind chimes, and a hammock. The Tiny House A tiny home tucked back in the trees. From the outside it looks small. Inside, it's roomier than expected: a full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker), a living area with TV, and a queen bed in the loft above. The back deck faces nothing but woods and is completely private. Morning coffee, evening drinks, or just sitting in the hammock while hummingbirds do their thing. Together The buildings are a short walk apart and within view of each other. Most families put the adults in the cabin's king bedroom and the tiny house, and the kids claim the cabin loft. Groups of all adults spread across both without any issues. You're together when you want to be and have your own space when you don't. Other Details to Note
- Cabin creaking: The logs pop and creak as temperatures change, especially at night. It sounds like footsteps overhead. It's the cabin doing its thing. Light sleepers may want earplugs the first night. - Tiny house loft bed: The queen bed is in an elevated loft accessed by steep stairs. Ceilings are low in the loft. All guests should be comfortable climbing up and down. - Tiny house bathroom: The bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) is in the bedroom area with no separating wall or door. Common tiny house design. Works well for couples and close friends. If bathroom privacy is important, this layout may not be the right fit. - Cabin loft: The loft is open to the living room below. Not a private bedroom. - Cabin ice maker: The built-in ice maker in the cabin's fridge doesn't work. - Arriving after dark: The property can be tricky to find at night. We send detailed directions with photos before your arrival. - Winter weather: 4WD/AWD recommended during months with potential snow and ice.
