Walk-to-Town Cottage: King Beds & Full kitchen

Bryson City, NC, United States

4 guests
2 bedrooms
1 bathroom

Most Bryson City rentals are a 20-minute drive from town. This one is a 10-minute walk. Two king bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a private backyard in a historic cottage just blocks from downtown restaurants, breweries, shops, and the Great Smoky Mountain Railway. Park when you arrive and leave the car until you head to the trails. Evenings end around the fire pit. During Polar Express season, families walk to the train and come back year after year.

Good to know

The cottage was originally built during Bryson City's early days and has been updated with modern comforts while keeping its character: hand-hewn log walls, stone floors, and rustic log-frame furniture throughout. Two king bedrooms (the beds are built from sassafras wood), a separate living room, a full bathroom, and a real kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, and coffee maker. There's fast wifi and a dedicated workspace if you need it. The backyard is private with a deck for morning coffee. You share a fire pit with the neighboring caboose property, which is a great spot to end the day. Walkable distances: • Downtown shops & restaurants: 5-minute walk • Great Smoky Mountain Railway / Polar Express: 10-minute walk • Breweries: 5-10 minute walk • Grocery: 8-minute walk Short drives: • Great Smoky Mountains National Park: 10 minutes to trailhead parking • Deep Creek Trailhead: 9 minutes • Downtown Cherokee: 17 minutes • Nantahala Outdoor Center: 17 minutes • Harrah's Cherokee Casino: 17 minutes • Mingo Falls: 29 minutes The location is what our guests mention most. It's quiet enough to sleep with the windows open, but close enough to walk to dinner without thinking about parking. Plenty of room for cars, trucks, trailers, and motorcycles.

Other Details to Note

What a charming, historic, cozy place! We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom in terms of amenities and supplies. The bed was comfy with plenty of blankets. The location was perfect - close access to both downtown and the national park. Brenda was very timely with responses and made the whole experience smooth from check in to check out. She even left us a basket of treats and bottles of water as a warm welcome. Thank you, Brenda, for sharing this delightful cottage with us, we would love to return someday!😀

Exactly as expected - a rustic cottage in Bryson City. Very little traffic - quiet. Kitchen met our needs. Two bedrooms for two people was great. Was nice to be able to walk to dinner. Brenda answered questions prior to trip, quickly.

My girlfriend and I booked it with my parents for the weekend.Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it due to an accident but my dad and his wife were able to get inside and really enjoyed their stay! Would absolutely recommend my dad had said and loved the fact he could walk instead of paying for Ubers downtown.Brenda was amazing and communicated very well and I’d definitely be back!
